Customer Reviews
Did you know that nearly 95% of customers read online reviews before they make a purchase?
Did you also know that by simply having just 5 online reviews, that you’re likely to increase sales by an average of 270%?
Did you also know that having negative online reviews can actually help establish credibility for your business and/or products?
Yep, it’s all true…customer reviews can do a lot for your business and/or products. All of this is according to a study done by the Spiegel Research Center which we encourage you to read all the way through when you get a chance.
In the meantime, what can you do to start getting customer reviews? Well, that depends on the type of reviews that you’re looking for. Let’s cover some of the basic review platforms to help you get started.
Business Reviews - Our Top 3 Customer Review Platforms
- Google My Business – This one is the most important review platform to start on because it’s Google and it dominates the industry.
- Yelp – We aren’t the biggest fans of Yelp as they continuously call our clients trying to upsell them on their additional services, but Yelp is still a very popular and effective online customer review platform that you should be on.
- Facebook Business – We love Facebook business page reviews and use them all of the time. All you need to do is set up your Facebook business page (if you haven’t done so already) and encourage your customers to leave you reviews. It’s that simple.
Product Reviews - Our Top 3 Customer Review Platforms
- Amazon – If you have products on Amazon, then getting more reviews on your products here is absolutely necessary. However, it’s tricky to get reviews on your Amazon products because Amazon discourages its sellers for asking buyers directly for reviews. There are ways around this. You could participate in their customer review program, you could ask for a review inside of your packaging, or you participate in 3rd party review programs. There are several other ways, but these ideas will help you get started.
- Your Own E-Commerce Store – If you sell your products via your own e-commerce store, then you should be encouraging reviews from your customers and have them added to your e-commerce store as soon as possible. There are dozens of ways to do this and it depends on your e-commerce store’s platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, etc).
- 3rd Party Review Sites & Additional E-Commerce Platforms – There are thousands of websites out there that sell products and review products and you should be targeting the ones in your niche whenever possible. Yes, we know…this is a very broad categorization, but these 3rd party review sites and additional e-commerce platforms are an excellent way to get your products reviewed and sold. The review sites that you target will depend on the type of products that you sell. Some of these types of 3rd party sites can include but are not limited to influencer blogs/sites, influencer YouTube reviews, influencer Instagram reviews, influencer Facebook reviews, microbloggers, microsites, large review sites, affiliate sites, and much more. Some of the additional e-commerce platforms that you might want to get your products on and encourage reviews include Etsy, Ebay, Wayfair, and any other e-commerce sites that fit your niche.
